Today’s sailing session was focused almost entirely on sailing under wind power and improving practical yacht handling skills.

There was a light northern wind, perfect for training and learning how to properly use the sails as the main driving force of the yacht. We used the engine only to leave the marina, and immediately after exiting, we raised the jib. While already underway, we hoisted the mainsail as well.

Under both sails, the yacht moved steadily with a noticeable heel, giving everyone a real feeling of how a sailing yacht behaves under wind pressure. During the session, all participants took turns steering the yacht and working with the sails.

We practiced:

• steering the yacht on a chosen course,
• sail trimming,
• tacking maneuvers,
• gybing maneuvers,
• teamwork and coordination onboard.

The lake was very active today, with many yachts on the water, including dinghy training sessions with children, which created a lively and inspiring sailing atmosphere.

Throughout the entire mission, we used the engine for only about 200 meters in total. The main goal of the session — using the wind as the primary source of movement and successfully reaching planned points under sail — was fully accomplished.

Another important step in understanding sailing, wind, and teamwork was successfully completed.
