Instead of staying unused in a marina, a yacht can continue sailing and inspire new sailors.
We are looking for a cruising sailing yacht that can continue sailing, teaching and inspiring through the Learn Cruiser Sailing program and the SECOND WIND project.
For the right yacht, we are open to donation, sponsorship, partnership or other arrangements that help preserve her legacy and continue her story.
Why We Are Looking for a Yacht
Every yacht has a story.
Some stories end when a yacht changes owners.
Others deserve to continue.
Roergames Stichting is looking for a sailing yacht approximately 35–55 ft (11–17 m) in length to support the SECOND WIND expedition and the Learn Cruiser Sailing program. Through these projects, the yacht will become more than a boat. She will become a platform for learning, exploration, teamwork, and personal growth. Young people and adults will have the opportunity to discover sailing, develop practical skills, learn responsibility, and experience life on the water.
Ideally, the yacht would be:
- a cruising sailing yacht approximately 35–55 ft (11–17 m) in length
- suitable for training, educational activities, and small crews
- ready to sail or requiring only moderate restoration and preparation
- equipped with an engine and structurally seaworthy
We are not looking for a perfect yacht.
We are looking for a yacht with miles left to sail and a story worth continuing.
Supporting the Next Chapter
A yacht receives a second wind.
Young people receive a first one.
Preparing a yacht for educational and expedition use requires more than the vessel itself. We are also seeking support for the initial costs of bringing her safely back into service.
This may include:
- marina berth and membership fees
- safety equipment and inspections
- fuel and operational costs
- maintenance and essential upgrades
- training and educational activities
Every contribution helps transform a yacht into a platform for learning, adventure and community.
Step by step, challenge by challenge, we prepare both the yacht and the people who will sail her.
Honoring the Story
A yacht is never just fiberglass, wood, and equipment.
She carries memories.
Miles sailed.
Friendships made.
Challenges overcome.
Stories worth preserving.
If a yacht is donated to the foundation, we would be honored to preserve and share her story.
The previous owner and the yacht’s history would become part of the SECOND WIND Legacy through:
• a commemorative plaque or onboard display
• acknowledgement on the foundation website
• a dedicated story page documenting the yacht’s history and next chapter
• future expedition and educational activities
We believe that worthy yachts, valuable skills, and meaningful traditions deserve to be passed on.
By donating a yacht, an owner is not simply transferring a vessel.
They are helping write the next chapter of a story that can continue inspiring future generations of sailors.
Instead of remaining unused, a yacht can continue sailing — creating new memories, new skills and new stories.
