In 2026, Roergames Sailing Team begins an exciting new chapter. We have acquired our own Quarter Tonner and are building a racing team to compete in local regattas across the Netherlands.

Roergames Sailing Team is a project of Roergames Stichting. Through sailing, we bring together sport, learning, teamwork and the joy of being on the water — creating opportunities for experienced sailors and the next generation alike.

Our ambition extends beyond reaching the start line. We are building a committed, welcoming and long-term team. During the 2026 season, we will compete locally, get to know the boat and develop our skills together. From 2027, we aim to compete in the Dutch Quarter Ton Class championship.

Two Crews, One Team

Racing Crew
Our adult crew is preparing for regattas now: learning the boat, refining manoeuvres and gaining race experience.

Training Crew
We are also building a training crew for children aged 10 and over. Young sailors will discover sailing in a safe and supportive environment, learn to work as a crew, explore racing tactics and prepare for future seasons.

We are united by a love of classic racing yachts, the thrill of competition and the wish to grow together — from first training sessions to the national championship start line.

Our Yacht — ZERO

Our Quarter Tonner now sails under a new name: ZERO.

Previously known as Fun Run (NED-3664; formerly H-47), ZERO is a Gib’Sea 80 Plus — an IOR Quarter Ton design by French naval architect Jean Berret. She measures 7.9 metres in length, with a 2.5-metre beam and a 1.5-metre draft. Built by Gilbert Marine in 1980.

As Fun Run, she raced extensively in the Netherlands during the 1980s. Following a refit by her previous owners, she returned to local competition, including Wednesday evening races on the Gooimeer and the 2019 Dutch Quarter Ton Cup. Her recorded home port was Naarden, and she also competed in the 2019 Zuiderzee Regatta in Muiden and in 2022 at the Dutch Quarter Ton Cup.

Today, ZERO (NED-3664) begins a new chapter with Roergames Sailing Team. We are preparing her for local racing in 2026 and for future participation in the Dutch Quarter Ton Cup.

FUN-RUN was moored in Naarden before. Same as my boat. Know her well, and won a lot of prices in her IOR days!

22 August 2026. Hertha Race

At the Hertha Race 2026, we finished 8th out of 15 crews.

As our first race together, it was both a valuable learning experience and a promising start. Every member of the crew completed the course, including two children, for whom it was their first race on a Quarter Tonner – a chance to experience teamwork on board and the excitement of competition.

We return with great memories, important lessons, and plenty of room to improve. More training, more races, and new goals ahead.
