NACRA Community in Roermond – Roergames Stichting

Roergames Stichting is developing a NACRA sailing community in Roermond, with the goal of supporting youth sailing and promoting catamaran sailing in the NACRA classes.

Between 2026 and 2028, we plan to provide one NACRA 500 training catamaran and three NACRA F16 boats for training and competition. We will form youth crews, organize regular training sessions and regattas, and make this class exciting and accessible for young sailors.

By 2028, our goal is to establish a stable youth team — the Roergames Sailing Team — and host regular local and national regattas in Roermond.

Stages of Development:

2026 – Launch and Initial Investment

Provide sailing theory and practical training sessions for young participants.
Purchase a NACRA 500 School Version training catamaran (second-hand).
Form the first crews among children and teenagers aged 9–21.
Conduct regular training sessions using the club’s boat.
Build the foundation’s budget to support participants who may not be able to fully cover participation costs.
Prepare for the first internal competitions in Roermond.

2027–2028 – Growth and Development

Purchase three NACRA F16 catamarans (second-hand or new, depending on available funding).
Create a stable group of youth crews.
Organize annual open regattas in Roermond for the NACRA 500 and NACRA F16 classes.
Form a youth team to participate in national competitions.
