Mission & Goals

The name Roergames is inspired by the spirit of the Olympic Games — a timeless symbol of dignity, equality, and personal growth. It embodies our commitment to fostering opportunity, unity, and excellence among youth, especially in a world that needs now hope and collaboration more than ever.

Our foundation is rooted in the heart of Roermond, where the Roer River flows into the Meuse, shaping a region rich in history, nature, and culture. The Roer is more than a river — it is a lifeline that connects vibrant ecosystems, picturesque towns, and communities across borders. This area, nestled in Limburg, is known for its natural beauty, open-minded spirit, and cultural diversity. Its forests, meadows, and waterways are home to rare wildlife and offer an ideal environment for both ecological awareness and outdoor activity.

Through Roergames, we are building a movement that unites ecology, sport, education, and culture in the service of a more just, healthy, and connected society.

Why We Exist

Roergames is a bridge between cultures, a platform for youth, and a space where people can find new roots, meaningful connections, and new opportunities.

After the 2022 invasion, thousands of Ukrainians faced displacement and uncertainty. In the Netherlands, we were welcomed with support and trust — and we knew this kindness must be passed on.

Together, we are fostering Roergames Stichting: connecting Dutch and Ukrainian communities through shared activities, sports, and culture, and building an inclusive society where everyone can grow and contribute.

Roergames is a vibrant community where connections flourish, cultures meet, and possibilities emerge. Our mission is simple: to nurture, connect, and grow — together. What we are fostering belongs to everyone.

We firmly believe that the following principles are key to empowering the next generation and building a resilient future:

Our Goals

  • Supporting initiatives in culture, art, education, and sports that nurture creativity and self-expression.

  • Promoting healthy lifestyles and physical activity among youth as a path to mental and physical well-being.

  • Creating equal opportunities for children and teenagers by engaging them in team sports and accessible public programs.

  • Fostering community integration and social cohesion through shared experiences and inclusive events.

  • Organizing public events that bring together families, communities, and generations.

  • Building meaningful cultural dialogue between Ukrainians and Dutch people, encouraging mutual respect and understanding.

Our vision

  • Respect for local culture. We don’t want to impose ours – we want to share and learn.
